Hello my lovelies! Hope you all too are excited for the summers like me to try on some new colourful summer dresses. So as we march towards summers, my makeup preference changes from dewy to matte. Yes! winters are the best time to flaunt that dewy sunkissed skin but I like to keep it matte in summers.
So, I was just browsing youtube and saw one of my favourite youtuber Alexisjayda raving about a $6 fullcoverage matte drugstore foundation and I was quick enough to order it from Nykaa.com. Yes! I bought the LA colors truly matte foundation in the shade Nude & Warm honey which retails at Rs 575/- but I got it for Rs 489/- due to holi sale. Actually, I first bought nude but it was a bit light for my tanned skin so I bought warm honey too and now I mix and match both the shades to get my perfect shade.

So, first I ordered this foundation in the shade nude because its really difficult to guess the shade seeing the online packaging. the foundation is way much lighter in actual than it looks in the bottle. So, better watch a youtube swatch video before zeroing on any shade.
Also , I would love to add that even though the shade was lighter for me but it was buildable after using compact and contouring powder. It didnt made me look like a ghost but the lighter shade didnt gave me full coverage. Actually my chin area is highly pigmented so it made that area look ashy even after using a colour corrector , however rest of the face was looking well.
So, when I mixed warm honey with nude and applied my custom made colour, it was just PERFECT for me. Yes I dont own any full coverage , high-end foundation so it was a first time full coverage for me. Its truly matte and I loved every bit of it. I wore it for around 4-5 hours and it was intact , yes it didnt transferred. I am yet to try it for a longer hour.
Also, its advisable to use it with a brush rather than sponge because its consistency is too thick. Or you can mix a little facial oil or moisturiser to get that perfect consistency.
Overall, I can say that currently its my holy grail foundation and I am totally in love with it.
So summarising its pros and cons:
- truly matte
- full coverage
- very affordable
- wide range of shades available from porcelain to mahogany
- comes with a pump too at this price range.
- plastic bottle makes it travel friendly
- It has a paint like weird smell
- since its too thick so you need to work quick with it
- Available only online and may be a problem to pick your right shade.
